  • search old threads, proof is there, i know im on mark with that so im not gonna find the proof for you.

yes, having them lower and ducked can help some people, but in this case im about 70% sure he already has his set but is just finding that his slipping loose from them,

only other thing i can suggest is that you step on your binding tops to bend them down a little bit to make it easier to keep grip on your feet.

Looks like Polycarbonate can be used for skate decks. A lot heavier than wood I'd guess.

And: heat it to 325F-340F, drape it over a mold to cool and you'll have concave!

Polycarb is also commonly called Lexan (a brand name polycarb), you need to press it when heated, because it will conform to the shape you drape it over but it "springs" back when it starts to cool, you will still have some concave but it wont be identic.

plenty of experience working with the stuff, (robots built out of it, safety screens made out of it, race car windshields made out of it. played with it alot)

also it expands with heat, on a hot day it can expand up to something like 1cm per 50cm.

Cracking isnt much of an issue with it but if it isnt thick enough it will flex like a gymnast warming up.

you might get away with 8mm but i think it could be pretty flexy, would be very keen to see how it would go though

Well, the freebord made slashers are 80mm so that's definitely a tried and true size. I've personally used 80mm wheels 78, 76, 75 and 70 (at least i think that's the size of the stock wheels). If you're not buying wheels from freebord, my suggestion would be o-tang in-heats. Haven't used the new baluts, they look promising though.

    He's talking about centres slimmy.

Ahhhhhh, then I've no experience outside of freebord made centers. Chubbs and 72mm. Pretty sure Mike Hoppe has experimented plenty with centers and edges, look for posts by him, I know there are some in the forum.

I myself have been looking at Labeda Asphalts, which he suggests, they come in an 80 size...and they're cheap as fuck, as well at the same design (just bigger) as freebord 72's

that wheel idea has been around for quite some time, their concept name is Omni-wheel.

I used them for one of my combat robots, but forget it in the offroad idea, the rollers are prone to jamming and when they jam they tend to rip out of the hub wheel.

unfortunately that is on flat surface where youve only gotta worry about dust and small fragments, off road with dirt and rocks your gonna be replacing them every half run, also the wheels arnt rated for shock at all, impacts cause them to bust apart (forget jumping and any uneven terrain)

a better idea would be to use a plastic "Orb" wheel with a low profile nub tread on it, nubs would give traction while allowing slide, the orb would prevent ground bite though thats just a 2min thought there,
